Hubs and I were really smooth-sailing for 5 years til we came here in Canada. Suddenly, mahirap pala ang buhay. Work-life balance is tough...and if you dont have a strong support system behind you, madaling masira ang samahan ng mag-asawa. Doble hirap kesa sa atin kung saan ang dami mong matatakbuhang tulong. So I can understand why Nikki went thru all this. Lalong malala kapag nagkaanak na kayo, when things become more hectic...when managing yr budget becomes a greater task. Pero things will become better...depende sa commitment nyong dalawa. If you both agree to ride thru the storm together no matter what, malalagpasan nyo din. Maybe its not too late...but if it is, I wish you find yr happiness.

As her friend, I say everything directly kapag may napansin ako:
Kapag naiwan ung heater na bukas, kapag maraming buhok sa CR, kapag after maligo naiiwan yung pail na puro sabon, kapag hindi nalinis yung pan overnight, kapag maingay na nakakaistorbo ng ibang tao pati ng kapitbahay, lalo na kapag magpaalam muna bago kumuha ng gamit iba. I don't accuse. Nagsasabi lang ako ng derecho pero iba ang dating sa kanya. Anyway, kung yun ang pananaw nya siguro nga, kc we didn't have the same problem nung wala pa sya.

May mga bagay din naman na hindi ko na sinasabi and hinihintay kong sya ang makapansin:
Kung may sakit sana maging considerate naman pag nag-sneeze para hindi kami mahawa (lalo na hindi simple ang sakit nya) or gumamit man lang ng serving spoon. And ibalik nya man lang ung mga hiniram na gamit ng iba.

Those are the things na I know I have to tell her kasi pwede pang mabago or pwede pang maiprove. Hindi mataas ang standards ko. Those are just basics. Those are the things na hindi na kailangan pang sabihin pero sinusubukan kong ipaalala sa kanya. Hindi pwedeng wala syang pakialam at lalo na't may naaabalang iba.

Hindi ko naman sinabi na:
Maglinis ka, uupo lang kami. Or hindi ka pwede manood ng TV, may pinapanood kami. Or hindi ka pwedeng magsalita, masyadong maingay. Hindi ka pwede magganito, kami pwede.
Ginagawa din namin kung ano ang rules sa loob ng bahay. Hindi sya kawawa kasi pare-pareho lang kami ng mga bawal gawin.

Given the things above, ano gagawin mo kung sabihin sayo na, "alam ko careless ako.. sorry.. HINDI ako aware na nakasira ako.."?! HINDI SYA AWARE? Dalawa lang yun e, bata pa sya or hindi nag-iisip. Paanong hindi nya alam na nakasunog sya ng kabayo?! Hindi ko talaga maintindihan. Ganun na ba talaga sya walang pakialam na hindi nya alam na nakakasira sya? Nakakalungkot talaga.

Pero wala. Magalit ako or sumigaw ako, hindi na rin naman maaayos yung nasira. Hindi naman pwedeng ipagwalang-bahala kasi hindi naman talaga OK yung nangyari. Nasaktan ako e, naabala kami. Tao rin naman ako, may karapatan ring magtampo.

Pangalawa, kaya nga ako nagpapaalala di ba, para maiwasan. But she doesn't like it. Tapos sasabihin nyang hindi sya aware? Kelan sya aware? Kailan ko dapat sya paalalahanan? Ayaw nyang ginagawa syang bata. Ayaw nyang pinagsasabihan sya. Paano magiging maayos ang loob ng bahay kung ayaw masabihan? kung lagi na lang iba ang dating sa knya? Nasasaktan ako. Hindi ko talaga matanggap. Kung simpleng bagay nga lang ayaw nya na sinasabihan, pano pa kaya yung mas malalaking bagay?

San ako lulugar sa kanya?

Nagkulong ako. Nanahimik ako. Inintindi ko. Hinayaan ko makalimutan ang lahat. Hinayaan kong gumaan muna ang loob ko. Hindi ko kc kayang makipagplastikan. Na kahit naiinis ako, kinakusap ko pa rin? Hindi ako ganun. Ayoko din makapagbitaw ng salita na makakasakit sa kanya, given pa kung gaano sya ka-sensitive. Knowing myself, hindi healthy na makipag-usap ako ng galit.

It's just sad na, kahit ang pananahimik ko, iba pa rin ang dating. May iba pa ring meaning. Wala na kong magagawa dun. Again, yun sya. May magagawa ba ko? Sinubukan ko nang magsalita, sinubukan ko nang manahimik. Pero wala, lahat hindi pwede sa knya. Anong gagawin ko?

Knowing her, malalaman nya lang na mali sya pag may nangyari ng hindi maganda. Sad, pero unaware sya. Sana sa susunod, isipin nya muna kung ano yung mga gagawin nya at kung ano pwedeng mangyari kahit yung mga simpleng bagay para maiwasang na hindi maganda. Sino ba naman may gusto ng ganun di ba? Sana may natutunan sya.

Ayoko na sana magsalita. Pero eto lang yung way ko para idefend ang sarili ko. One day, mababasa din nila 'to. Siguro nga nagkamali din ako pero hindi ko ugaling manakit ng tao. We can't have everything. We can't please everybody. Minsan kailangang mag-sacrifice para maging maayos yung iba. We have to choose what is right.

Dous and I spend approximately S$80 for 2-week groceries. That doesn't include his lunch which costs what, S$5 per meal? So he spends S$50-lunch on weekdays (x10). In total, we need to have $130 for food for 2 weeks.

If we always go out to eat, minimum will gonna be what? Let's just say S$5 per meal again. Minimum of S$10 for lunch and dinner. Minimum of S$20 for both of us. Minimum of S$280 for 2 weeks (x14).

Wow! S$130 compared to S$280? That means we have S$150 savings for 2 weeks and S$300 savings for a month.. :)

Protect the Hands from Cold Weather
Try to keep the hands warm without sweating when outside in cold weather, as this could worsen hand eczema. Cold air can dry out the skin, aggravating any scales or rashes of the hands.

The physical trauma from scratching the hands could worsen the situation. Protect the hands from eczema by avoiding gloves or other items that are made up of woolen fibers. Even simple chores as gardening without gloves can worsen this sort of condition.
Avoid Foods or Drinks that Aggravate the Hand Eczema
Hands can be protected by avoiding food or drinks that aggravate the eczema such as milk, wheat, chocolate, tomatoes, eggs, peanuts and seafood. Food additives may also aggravate it more. Drinking an adequate amount of water will keep the skin hydrated and in a more optimal condition.
Avoid Emotional Stress
Moments and times of stress worsen hand eczema. Get a lot of rest and relaxation and work toward a healthy emotional well-being to avoid outbreaks.
Keeping the skin moisturized with unscented creams or lotions and avoiding scratching will help the hand eczema to go away. Always follow the advice and instructions of the dermatologist with regards to the proper application of ointments, and for the correct care and treatment.

You know naman na hindi ko sasadyain manakit ng ibang tao especially if she/he's a friend. I have things to consider. I always consider kung may maapektuhan ba or maaabala ba, alam mo yan. I have reasons why I do things and I don't want others to suffer with what I do.

I know, hindi pa nya ako totally maiintindihan. After what happened, nde na kami nakapag-usap ulit about dun. Walang closure. Hindi ko alam kung naintindihan nya. I said sorry night before pero nde sya sumagot then nagbati na lang kagad. That's it. Natatakot din ako i-open kasi I still don't know how to defend myself. Baka lalo pang gumulo.

But anyway Aiz, ayun, whatever you told her, thank you.. And sorry din kung minsan nasasaktan kita..

Nde ko nman sinabi na nde pwede e.. sabi ko sa gabi na lang sya mag-torrent.. nabreak na ni Dous yung rule nya na nde pwede magpa-download kc illegal nga.. alam mo namang taga sunod sa batas yun.. pero sabi nya isa lang so ok na yun..

Kaso yung oras na yun, gusto rin maglaro ni Dous pero nde nya na magagawa kasi babagal na yung internet once magdownload na sya, even ibang websites babagal din.. wala nang ibang magagawa pag may nagda-download na.. alam mo namang buhay ni Dous ang internet di ba?

Ang samin lang naman, ok lang naman magrequest basta maayos lahat and walang ibang maabala.. yun lang naman ang importante..

Pero ang naging kasalanan ko lang, nde ko naconsider na nabobore sya or nalulungkot sya.. Naging masyado akong insensitive..

.... sa isang relasyon, kelangan two way yan, kapag sa tingin mo, may mali ang partner mo, dapat sabihan mo ito in a nice way. this way, malalaman nya na ayaw mo pala ng ginagawa nya. hindi naman manghuhula lahat ng tao para malaman nila kung ano'ang ayaw mo kapag tatahimik ka na lang.

it's up to your partner kung magbabago ba sya o hindi. kung mahal ka nya, mag-aadjust sya. kung hindi naman at least you did your part in making the relationship work.

Kung natapakan man ang ego nila or nasaktan man sila sa naging decision natin, I don't think na sinasadya natin yun. Choice natin yun e. Nangyayari talaga yun. Sorry. Pero nde talaga nagtugma yung mga gusto natin. At kelangan nilang tanggapin yun at respetuhin na lang.

I’m asking your help to spread the word. Tulungan po ninyo akong ikalat ito. Beyond this, we should also demand action. I disabled a plugin so you can copy the photos of relief goods rotting in DSWD warehouses. You can link this post to your blogs, facebook, websites etc. You can also email the photos.

Philippine News (US based Philippine newspaper) will use this as its front page story this week. Every Filipino has the right to know where the tons of donations from the UN and other counties go. Kahit po nakakahiya sa mga nag-donate. Kung sa ganitong paraan, matutulungan natin ang mga nasalanta, then by all means, let’s do it.

For those who have the time, please try to volunteer sa DSWD warehouses. Getting in was not easy. A friend had to put in a word for us. Let’s see kung madali nang makapasok sa DSWD warehouse ang mga volunteers.

DSWD Secretary Esperanza Cabral: Wala kasing volunteers.

This short interview was done over the phone. Philippine News wanted to hear her side pero ayaw niyang makipag-usap sa press. After four tries, pinasabi na lang niya ang maikling sagot na ito sa secretary niya - “Walang volunteers”.

I don’t want to accuse her of corruption but at the very least she is showing signs of being totally incompetent. We are in a state of calamity where every second counts. May namamatay araw-araw dahil sa sakit.

In my opinion, these deaths could have been prevented if Secretary Cabral had tried a little harder to do her job.

Deaths from Philippine storms nears 1,000

“Tropical Storm Ketsana left 420 dead and 37 missing when it flooded 80 percent of Manila on September 26, a disaster the government said affected 4.35 million people.

Some areas are still flooded three weeks later and 189,000 people remain in evacuation centres,

Typhoon Parma hit the northern Philippines on October 3 and lingered as a tropical storm for a week, triggering landslides that killed 438 people and leaving 51 missing mostly in mountain communities.

The government agency said Parma affected 4.16 million people, including more than 32,000 who remain at evacuation centres.”

During the first week after the storm, lumabas ang “bayanihan spirit” ng mga Pinoy. “Makatulong lang kahi’t konti,” katwiran nila.

GMA asked world for donations

Our government begged the world for more donations. Sumagot ang buong mundo sa ating panawagan. In less than three weeks, dumaong ang mga barko, ibinaba mula sa mga cargo planes, i-diniliver ng mga trak at container vans ang sandamakmak na relief goods. Cash donations were in the millions of dollars.

But these donations must be coursed through DSWD

Nagpalabas ng directive ang pangulo. Individuals, private companies and other nations were ENCOURAGED to send their donations to DSWD. I blogged about it here and the video of her announcement here.

This PGMA directive sounded suspicious to me then. Now I know why. Here’s the story.

A group of eight people, your ate Ella included, went to one of DSWD warehouses to help in repacking relief goods. We know they need volunteers pero hindi namin akalaing WALANG TAO TALAGA SA LOOB NG WAREHOUSE!

As in sa isang humongous warehouse (1000++ sq.m) NA PUNONG-PUNO NG RELIEF GOODS HANGGANG BUBONG, ISANG DSWD employee lang at ISANG SECURITY GUARD ang tao!!

Kailangang magpa-register at i-schedule ang volunteering

The warehouse can only take as much as 50 volunteers at a time or per shift. Here you will find that there is a 4-hour shift, and an option for a 6-hour shift for the volunteers to indicate their availability.

What “volunteers”? Nasaan?

Aside from the 8 of us? Nope, there was nobody there. Bakit kailangan ang scheduling? Feeling hindi ba magkamayaw at nagu-unahan ang mga volunteers?

I know somebody who wanted to volunteer many times. She was always bumped off, laging nirere-schedule kasi “there were too many volunteers” daw. At tuwing Sunday lang daw puwede. What the hell is going on here?

Nakatambak ang donations ng UNICEF sa warehouse, local and international

Mga banig na dapat ay nahihigaan ng mga nasalanta. Mga imported camp beds na hindi na yata masisilayan ng mga biktima. Mga kumot na hindi naman nakabalot sa katawan nila. At mga pagkaing hindi sumasayad sa sikmura nila.

The relief goods are not going anywhere

We arrived at about 8 am and left by midafternoon and yes, you guessed it right. Kami pa rin ang tao bukod sa isang DSWD employee sa loob ng warehouse maghapon. Walang ibang dumating.

The relief goods are not moving. By the way things look, they are not going anywhere. Hindi maglalakad mag-isa ang mga donations na ito papunta sa mga evacuation centers.

Now let’s take a look at what a victim will get from DSWD

Look Ma, sampung lata ng sardinas! How generous! Kaldero ang unang ilalagay sa sako. Sabong panglaba (bar soap) at sampung sardinas sa ilalim. Siyam na sabon sa gilid ng kaldero. Local goods lahat syempre.

Tapos papatungan ng isang tuwalya at isang pack ng sanitary napkin.

Sisiksikan ng tatlong rolyo ng kumot(?) ang blue water jug tapos ipapatong sa kaldero sa loob ng sako.

Last but not the least, lalagyan ng dalawang banig.

Sabay tatahiin na ang sako. O di ba, parang asong tinapunan ng buto ang mga nasalanta? Eniwey, busog naman sila sa SAMPUNG lata ng Mega sardinas

Do not delay

YOU THINK?? WTF is the matter with these people? Mag-iisang buwan na mula nang masalanta ang mga kababayan natin. ISANG BUWAN!! Do you mean “do not delay ang dati nang delayed”?? Shet.

Anong ginagawa ng mga donations na ito sa warehouse?? APAT na warehouse ang nasa loob ng compound na ‘yon! APAT na warehouse na punong-puno ng inaalikabok na relief goods! Relief goods na ayaw yata ibigay sa mga nasalanta. Halatang-halata.

Marami pang pabubulukin

Wow! May bagong shipment na naman! At the rate DSWD is moving, next year na madi-discover kung ano ang laman ng mga kahong ito.

“The first of two of the largest high-energy food shipments from the United Nations World Food Program (WFP) arrived in the country two days ago for victims of storm “Ondoy” and typhoon “Pepeng.”

The biscuits were fortified with essential vitamins and minerals for supplementary feeding to children, pregnant women and the elderly in evacuation camps. Another 100 tons of biscuits will arrive on Oct. 24, in a continuing effort to provide food assistance to flood victims.

Sige, ideretso ‘nyo ulit ‘yan sa DSWD warehouse. Para AMAG naman ang abutin ng biskwit… at sapot ng gagamba.

Conclusion

Sa maghapon namin sa warehouse,nakagawa kami ng 150 sacks of relief goods. 150 bags of relief goods lang ang lumabas sa warehouse na ‘yon that day. At nandoon pa rin sa loob ang mga imported relief goods, safe, sound and packed as the day they arrived.

Nakisakay kami palabas sa isang DSWD delivery van. Gusto sana kaming ihatid ng driver hanggang Makati pero wala raw siyang sobrang gasolina. Ibinaba na lang niya kami sa gitna ng EDSA. Millions of dollars in donations, walang extrang pang-gasolina.

Susulpot din siguro ang laman ng mga mahiwagang kahon at mapapasakamay din ng mga tao…sa ARAW NG ELEKSYON. O mabibili na nila ang mga imported goods na ‘yon sa mga puwesto sa Quiapo at Divisoria.

Suggestions lang po sa DSWD:

Alam ‘nyo palang walang mag-volunteer sa inyo, bakit hindi kayo mag-hire ng mga tao? Bayaran ‘nyo ng arawan para mag-repack. Ang daming walang trabaho, makakatulong pa kayo. Hindi naman malaking kabawasan ‘yon sa bilyong pisong donasyon na natanggap ninyo.

Isa pa, gaano ba karami ang mga sundalo natin? Hindi ba puwedeng ipagawa sa kanila ‘yan? Baka isang araw lang, tapos na ang problema ‘nyo

Bakit hindi ‘nyo ibigay ang trabaho sa mga NGO, churches, private charities, TV stations? I’m sure they are more than willing to help. Time is of the essence. Huwag kayong suwapang. Obvious ba, hindi ‘nyo naman kaya.

Kung talagang gugustuhin ninyong makarating agad sa mga kawawang biktima ang mga donasyong ‘yon, nagawa ‘nyo na ‘yan. Maraming paraan…kung talagang gusto ‘nyo lang.

You are the government. You have the power, the resources and the money. You just have to really care.

We had a killer advisory board. We tested our site with user after user. We listened to feedback and iterated quickly. We launched our public beta in less than three months. We built relationships with investors, and applied to YCombinator, getting as far as a final-round interview.

Six months later, we walked away $50,000 poorer, and no closer to success than when we started. What went wrong?

For the first time, I’m sharing my startup lessons — and my story — with the public.

1) Pick a problem, and solve it.

In January, 2009, I set out with Cassie Phillipps and Raphael Lee to start a new company called Trogger.

We envisioned Trogger as a new kind of communication platform, combining the conversational depth of forums with the virality and flexibility of the social web.

We suffered from the “no problem problem.” Cool as our technology was, and as compelling the concept, we never picked a single, specific problem to solve. Our vision kept changing, and our proverbial audience never showed up.

2) Know your audience. Better yet, BE your audience.

Joshua Schachter started del.icio.us to manage his personal bookmarks. Reed Hastings launched NetFlix to avoid late fees. My old roommate, Chris Smoak, got frustrated with the options for monetizing his Facebook apps, so he launched Gambit, now a fast-growing ad network.

By contrast, none of us at Trogger were avid online communicators. We shied away from blogs and forums, and weren’t exactly rabid Twitterers. We built a product outside the scope of our experiences, which is a bit like a cattle rancher opening a vegan bakery.

3) Match the strength of the company to the strength of your team

Cassie and I started off as business partners at Room Full of People. We complemented each other well, drawing on our skills, enthusiasm, and natural talents.

With Trogger, however, we faltered, focusing on areas far outside our passions and expertise. At first, I liked learning new skills — UI and front-end coding — but I ended up frustrated. I spent whole days poring over style sheets when I really wanted to be out striking deals.

Before Jeff Bezos started Amazon, he attended a six-week intensive workshop for booksellers. By contrast, many founding teams fail to match their vision with their skills, and falter as a result. Don’t make this mistake.

4) Talk to people and listen to them closely

I talked about Trogger and got reactions like:
- “I don’t get it.”
- “I’m not sure I’d use it.”
- “I don’t think it will succeed.”

I dismissed such naysaying as hogwash, vowing to push forward at all costs. Turns out, the naysayers were right all along.

When you’re met with confusion, doubt, and dismissal, it’s time to reevaluate. The world, collectively, is smarter than you are — pay attention to it.

On a related note, “stealth mode” needs to die. Your secrecy can — and will — deprive you of valuable feedback and insight. Get out of stealth mode as soon as you can; better yet, avoid it in the first place.

5) The fewer heads, the better

I’ve seen brilliant, motivated, entrepreneurial people come up with great ideas, yet abandon them for lack of a co-founder.

Companies succeed with single founders all the time. Just look at Digg, Craigslist, eBay, Netflix, Wordpress, Wikipedia, Amazon, TechMeme, PBWiki, TechCrunch, TechMeme, and Etsy. They all started with single founders, and they’re far from the only ones.

Like many entrepreneurs, I tend to be independent, idiosyncratic, and self-motivated. I like to do things my way, without much regard for the status quo. I was the kid in school who hated group projects, yet thrived on independent studies.

With Trogger, we had a team of three. We reached consensus on ideas, rather than moving forward unilaterally. On many occasions, I’d come up with a new, inspiring idea, only to get a knot in my stomach before pitching it to my team.

A single founder lacks the camaraderie and shared purpose that come from a team effort. These are important feelings, and difficult to give up. However, the solo path offers its own rewards: freedom, flexibility, and creative expression. These are some of the very qualities that brought me to entrepreneurship in the first place.

I cast no aspersions on team-based startups, which are proven, successful, and time-honoured. At the same time, a great company needs co-founders no more than a great painting needs multiple artists.

6) Narrow it down

Complexity creeps into startups like weeds into a garden. Good ideas often die the Death of a Thousand Features. A company often aims for a bullseye and misses the dartboard altogether.

To counteract these tendencies, narrow your company down until you can describe it in three words. Successful companies thrive by following a simple, easy-to-understand mission, especially in their early days.

Pick a three-word monicker and stick to it. While your execution may change, your premise should stay consistent.

7) Know when to let it go

Like communism, New Coke, and a sensible American health care policy, some ideas just don’t work, even when they should.

What’s the biggest cost of a startup? Time. Building an app, regardless of platform, often takes a couple months — sometimes more. The opportunity cost for spending time on a startup is, therefore, the time you could be spending on any other startup.

Time is your scarcest asset. Don’t waste it on an idea that isn’t going anywhere. When it’s time to walk away, bite the bullet and leave. Better yet, set up quarterly milestones that recognize conditions for failure (ex: “Under 1000 users with less than 5% monthly growth”), giving you a firm reason to cut your losses and move on.

Retrospect

After five months, Trogger ran out of money. Seeing no traction, and feeling stressed and frustrated, I decided to move on. My team shortly followed.

On the one hand, letting go of Trogger was easy — it was the obvious choice. On the other hand, it took a psychic toll. For a couple months, I doubted my aptitude, questioned my abilities, and second-guessed my choice to become an entrepreneur in the first place.

Sure, I’m stronger for it all, and grateful for the experience. But let’s be honest: failing is about as much fun as getting hit by a sack of bricks.

That said, it’s part of the entrepreneurial journey. If it happens to you — which it probably will — my advice is simple: confront it, accept it, and move on.

Hello!

Salamat pala guys, kagabi. Salamat Darlene and Vince sa masarap nyong spag, at dahil dun e may baon ako.. hahaha! Nag-enjoy ako kagabi kahit naubusan ako ng energy (nde ba halata? :D)

Pareho kaming nadedepress ni Dous pagdating ng 6pm or basta naiisip na uuwi na naman kami. Mabigat sa pakiramdam. Si Dous sumasakit daw ang batok.. :( Sana hindi naman high blood. Ang hirap naman na hindi isipin. Kahit na yung pampalipas oras ni Dous na WoW, hindi na effective (kahit WoW wala nang silbi, eh halos ipagpalit na ko ni Dous dun? hahaha! joke lang Dous :p). Hindi na rin kami makakain ng maayos. Hindi naman namin magawang i-comfort yung isa't isa. Pareho kaming tamad na kumilos. Pareho kaming parang laging malalim ang iniisip. Late na nakakatulog, late na nagigising. Ang lungkot di ba? Hindi na healthy.

Hindi namin nakasanayan yung ganung klaseng environment kaya medyo nahihirapan kaming mag-adjust. Buti nga kagabi may dinner tayo, maganda yung pakiramdam namin ni Dous, mas maluwag na. Tsaka kahit kaninang umaga na nasa bus ako, nangingiti pa rin ako sa mga kulitan kagabi. Hehehe! Nung mga nakaraan kasi lagi na lang akong lutang.

Ayun, lang po. Buti na lang po nandyan kayo. Salamat. Sobrang malaking bagay samin ni Dous yun. Alam nyo naman na sa taong depress, kahit anong maliit na bagay na nakapagpasaya sa tao naaappreciate e. Kaya yun, thanks po ulit.

1. Do Not Interfere In Others' Business Unless Asked.

Most of us create our own problems by interfering too often in others' affairs. We do so because somehow we have convinced ourselves that our way is the best way, our logic is the perfect logic and those who do not conform to our thinking must be criticized and steered to the right direction, our direction. This thinking denies the existence of individuality and consequently the existence of God.. God has created each one of us in a unique way. No two human beings can think or act in exactly the same way. All men or women act the way they do because God within them prompts them that way. Mind your own business and you will keep your peace.

2. Forgive And Forget:

This is the most powerful aid to peace of mind. We often develop ill feelings inside our heart for the person who insults us or harms us. We nurture grievances. This in turn results in loss of sleep, development of stomach ulcers, and high blood pressure. This insult or injury was done once, but nourishing of grievance goes on forever by constantly remembering it. Get over this bad habit. Life is too short to waste in such trifles. Forgive, Forget, and march on. Love flourishes in giving and forgiving.

3. Do Not Crave For Recognition:

This world is full of selfish people. They seldom praise anybody without selfish motives. They may praise you today because you are in power, but no sooner than you are powerless, they will forget your achievement and will start finding faults in you. Why do you wish to kill yourse lf in striving for their recognition? Their recognition is not worth the aggravation. Do your duties ethically and sincerely.

4. Do Not Be Jealous:

We all have experienced how jealousy can disturb our peace of mind. You know that you work harder than your colleagues in the office, but sometimes they get promotions; you do not. You started a business several years ago, but you are not as successful as your neighbor whose business is only one year old. There are several examples like these in everyday life. Should you be jealous? No. Remember everybody's life is shaped by his/her destiny, which has now become his/her reality. If you are destined to be rich, nothing in the world can stop you. If you are not so destined, no one can help you either. Nothing will be gained by blaming others for your misfortune. Jealousy will not get you anywhere; it will only take away your peace of mind.

5. Change Yourself According To The Environment:

If you try to change the environment single-handedly, the chances are you will fail. Instead, change yourself to suit your environment. As you do this, even the environment, which has been unfriendly to you, will mysteriously change and seem congenial and harmonious.

6. Endure What Cannot Be Cured:

This is the best way to turn a disadvantage into an advantage. Every day we face numerous inconveniences, ailments, irritations, and accidents that are beyond our control. If we cannot control them or change them, we must learn to put up with these things. We must learn to endure them cheerfully. Believe in yourself and you will gain in terms of patience, inner strength and will power.

7. Do Not Bite Off More Than You Can Chew:

This maxim needs to be remembered constantly. We often tend to take more responsibilities than we are capable of carrying out. This is done to satisfy our ego. Know your limitations. . Why take on additional loads that may create more worries? You cannot gain peace of mind by expanding your external activities. Reduce your material engagements and spend time in prayer, introspection and meditation. This will reduce those thoughts in your mind that make you restless. Uncluttered mind will produce greater peace of mind.

8. Meditate Regularly:

Meditation calms the mind and gets rid of disturbing thoughts. This is the highest state of peace of mind. Try and experience it yourself. If you meditate earnestly for half an hour everyday, your mind will tend to become peaceful during the remaining twenty-three and half-hours. Your mind will not be easily disturbed as it was before. You would benefit by gradually increasing the period of daily meditation. You may think that this will interfere with your daily work. On the contrary, this will increase your efficiency and you will be able to produce better results in less time.

9. Never Leave The Mind Vacant:

An empty mind is the devil's workshop. All evil actions start in the vacant mind. Keep your mind occupied in something positive, something worthwhile. Actively follow a hobby. Do something that holds your interest. You must decide what you value more: money or peace of mind. Your hobby, like social work or religious work, may not always earn you more money, but you will have a sense of fulfillment and achievement. Even when you are resting physically, occupy yourself in healthy reading or mental chanting of God's name.

10. Do Not Procrastinate And Never Regret:

Do not waste time in protracted wondering " Should I or shouldn't I?" Days, weeks, months, and years may be wasted in that futile mental debating. You can never plan enough because you can never anticipate all future happenings. Value your time and do the things that need to be done. It does not matter if you fail the first time. You can learn from your mistakes and succeed the next time. Sitting back and worrying will lead to nothing. Learn from your mistakes, but do not brood over the past. DO NOT REGRET. Whatever happened was destined to happen only that way. Why cry over spilt milk?

Friends, I Need Advice

You guys know me. Alam nyo ang mga bagay na kaya at di ko kayang gawin. Since sa panahon na to di ko alam ang kailangan kong gawin, I need an advice.

Eight kami sa flat, two of them hindi na nakiki-cooperate, boy 1 and boy 2 (if you know them personally, I'm sorry and just please tell me if we just misunderstood them but I tell you, this is what happened). Meaning, wala silang planong magbago at parang wala na rin pag-asang matahimik ang bahay. Sinabi ko na sa kanila na dati pa lang, nag-aadjust kami para sa kanila para maging peaceful ang bahay, pero nakikita pa rin nila yung mga dating issues. Di ba pag natama na, dapat wala na yun sa issue? At dahil sa paniniwala nilang ako pa rin ang may problema at hindi namin sila nirerespeto, hindi na rin daw nila kami rerespetuhin. At silang dalawa na rin ang nagsabi na bakit sila mag-aadjust para sa amin.

Ang kinagagalit nila, maingay daw kami, which is true. Take note ang door nila ay glass door lang meaning kahit konting ingay maririnig nila. Kami ang gusto namin, masaya yung bahay. Pano ka magiging masaya kung hindi ka makikipag-usap o magsasalita? Dun pa lang may conflict na.

Ang gusto nila sa tahimik:
- walang mag-uusap malapit sa room nila
- yung paglalakad namin dapat hindi maingay
- yung galaw mo dapat dahan dahan lang lagi para hindi makaproduce ng ingay

Pero sila pwedeng:
- maglakad ng maingay
- makipag-usap sa telepono malapit sa room nila
- makapagdabog ng pinto nila
- makapagdabog ng pinto ng CR
- makapagdabog ng pinto ng ref
- magkwentuhan sila ng maingay
- magsara ng door nila ng maingay
- maghugas ng pinagkainan nila ng maingay

Hindi ko rin alam kung nananadya sila sa mga ginagawa nila:
- iniiwan nilang bukas ang ilaw kahit na walang tao sa room nila
- pinapatay bukas nila yung air-con na ngayon ay hindi gumagana
- isang linggo na silang di nagtatapon ng basura nila na nangangamoy na sa kitchen
- hindi na rin maayos ang paggamit nila ng CR
- pinagbabayad nila si Aldous ng PUB nila dahil nagvolunteer naman daw siya na magbayad nung nasira yung air-con namin one-month ago
- kinuha nila yung petty cash na dapat para sa bahay

Sobrang hirap ng feeling ng may kasama kang ganitong ugali sa bahay. Kung tutuusin, pwede kaming umalis ni Dous para lang matahimik pero sa pananaw ko hindi ito yung tamang paraan. All of my officemates tell me to just move out 'coz it already gives me stress. Pero hindi e, hindi naman naresolve yung problema 'pag umalis kami.

And dahil sa nangyayari, nakakaisip ka na rin ng hindi maganda para naman matahimik ang bahay, which is not healthy anymore, right? So I need help, I need it so badly. Hindi ko/namin alam ang gagawin sa kanila. Paki-explain na rin, please, kung nasan ba yung problema. Kung sino ba ang problema. Kung ano ba pwedeng gawin. Sinubukan na namin makipag-usap sa kanila pero sumisigaw lang sila at sa dulo kami LANG ang willing mag-adjust.

Air-con

Ano ba sabi sakin about sa aircon?
-- Kinausap na ko ng main tenant na wag patay bukas ang aircon at paki-minimize ang gamit. Sabi ko, OK, wala namang problema na dun kc tama naman. Parang nag-end up ang usapan na pwede naman siguro gumamit ng aircon ng weekend dahil wala namang pasok. Hindi nafinalize yung usapan namin na yun pero starting that day, saglit na lang kami magbukas ng aircon at medyo mahaba pag weekend.

Ilan ba ang condenser?
-- Iisa lang ang condenser na gamit sa apat na rooms.

Kelan nasira yung condenser?
-- Around June 14. Hindi na gumagana yung aircon. Bakit? May nasunog sa condenser. Sabi ni housemate 1 dahil daw patay bukas ang aircon namin at buong magdamag. Yun ba ang cause ng sunog? Hindi ko alam. Alam nya? Hindi ko alam kung may explanation sya pero sabi nya yun daw. Business Management yata ang course nya.

Ano pananaw ko sa paggamit ng aircon?
-- Pag buong magdamag pala, masisira yung aircon? Siguro wala nang gumamit ng aircon kung ganun din lang. Tsaka, bakit parang yung stay namin sa Vernida hindi naman ganun. Yun yata isang linggong walang patayan pero hindi naman nasira yung condenser. Oh well.

Nasira ba ung condenser dahil pinatay bukas namin yung aircon that time?
-- Hindi. Bigla na lang syang nasira. At sa pagkakatanda ko, ilang araw na ang nakakaraan nang kausapin ako ni main tenant na wag bukas sara. Sumunod naman ako kagad.

Alam ko ba kung pano gamitin yung aircon na yun bago kayo lumipat sa flat na yun?
-- Sabi ni main tenant, luma na daw yun at yung huling tenant na umalis, grabeh gumamit ng aircon.

-- May 28 kami lumipat. Meaning, half month pa lang kami sa flat. Ilang buwan na sila nag-sstay dun? Nagmove in sila ng first week ata ng May. Sino ba ulit mas matagal nang gumagamit ng aircon?

Teka, ilang oras ba gamit ng aircon namin?
-- Nung unang week, sabihin natin na buong araw, worst case, pero pinapatay yun pag sobrang lamig na sa room. After may nagreklamo sa gamit ng aircon (na sa una pa lang wala naman silang sinabing rule about sa paggamit ng aircon), bukas ng 5pm hanggang 9am. After masira ng condenser, 11pm-7am. Eh sila? Hindi ko alam, shifting sila e. Bukas daw mula 9pm pag dumating na si housemate 2 pero dahil natutulog pa si housemate 1, around 10am na napapatay yung aircon. OK? You do the math.

Sino ulit may kasalanan sa pagkasira ng aircon?

Cooking

Ano ba sabi sa ad about sa bahay na titirhan ko ngayon regarding sa cooking?
-- Nung nakita namin yung ad ng available room na yun, walang nakalagay na "light cooking only" at mas prefer namin na hindi kasi gusto ko magluto.

Ano ba rules ng bahay?
-- Tinanong ko si main tenant kung ano sa rules sa bahay, of course including yung pagluluto. Sabi nya wala naman, ang importante lang sa knila maglock lang lagi ng pinto. So, may sinabi bang bawal magluto ng umaga, tanghali at gabi?

Ilang beses ba kasi ako nagluluto?
-- Kahit na maluto ako ng tatlong beses sa isang araw, at dalawa na kami ni dous ang kumakain nun. Meaning, kung may Math na involved, 1 and a half lang ako nagluluto sa isang araw at ganun din c dous. Itanong mo kung ilang beses sila nagluluto sa isang araw? Say, tig-isa sila? That makes two. Ilang beses ulit kami? Tatlo? Wow! laki ng difference, pare... At take note, dati pa yun, nung wala pa kong work! Get over.. grabeh...

Ano tanong ko?
-- Kasalanan ko ba na marunong ako magluto at sila [enter whatever here]?
-- Kasanalan ko ba na mas makakatipid kung magluluto ako sa bahay kesa sa kumain sa labas?

Washing machine

Ano naman tong washing machine?
-- Last Saturday, nag general-cleaning kami ng room. Meaning, laba ng towels, bedsheet, 2 kumot at syempre yung ginamit naming damit nang isang linggo.

Pano ka ba kc maglaba lj?
-- Kahit automatic ang washine machine namin, hindi ko ginagawang full cycle (Wash-Rinse-Spin) ang bawat batch. Nirereuse ko yung water and sabon kc sayang naman. Ibig sabihin, after masabunan ng puti, kusot, tanggal sa washing machine, lagay sa basin tapos lagay sa washing machine yung next batch, etc.

Gano ka katagal maglaba?
-- At dahil maraming labahan nung Saturday dahil general cleaning nga, umabot ako ng hanggang 7 or 8pm ata ng gabi. Sige na nga pagbigyan na lang natin na mula umaga pa daw akong naglalaba kahit na tanghali na ko nagigising. So 10am, for example. Wow! 10 hours akong naglaba. Pakibawas pala dun yung kusot ha? tsaka yung oras na nakakalimutan kong tapos na pala yung wash.

Ano ba usual mong laba?
-- Usually, 3 hanggang 4 batches pag sabado ang laba ko (whites, grays at 2 para sa mga maong). Pag Wednesday or pag free ang washing machine, 1-2 batch para sa underwear at isa pang batch para mabawasan yung labahin ng Saturday. Take note, dalawa na kami ni aldous sa laba na yun. So ilang batches yun sa isang linggo? 6.

Itanong mo kung ilan beses sila maglaba sa isang linggo?!
-- Dalawang bese daw sabi nila. Ilang batch sa isang labahan? Say dalawa. That makes 4 na labahan sa isang linggo per head. Take note, isang tao pa lang po yun. Eh dalwa sila, so ilan na? 8? Linggo linggo silang ganun ha? Ilan ulit kami? 6? tapos 10 nung isang araw lang? Gawin mo nang 12 para isang buong linggo. Wow! galit na sya nun. Ang aksaya ko daw!

Userinit Deleted from Registry

I was infected by a virus (again, argh!) named userinit.exe. Thanks to that anti-virus app that helped me remove the virus from my PC. But just to make sure that the virus is totally unloaded to the memory, I usually clean the registry too. Stupid me, I deleted that userinit (windows registry) line! Goodluck! I can't login. Wuhahaha. What should I do?! Everytime, I login it logs me out automatically.

Ina, my lola, has just suffered a mild stroke last Dec. 26. Nakita na lang siya ng nanay ko na lupaypay. My mom thought she was just sleepy so they carried her and sent her to her bed. It was already 9pm when they decided to bring her to the hospital kasi wala pa ring pababago sa lola ko - mahina pa rin at hindi maintindihan ang mga salita.

She was sent to the hospital and stayed there for 5-6 days. It was found out that her left body part is numb and is suffering from a mild stroke. She's now home. Although, we still can't understand her words, I know she's recovering well.

Habang tumatagal lalo akong nasasaktan. Ang dami kong natutuklasan at nalalaman. Dati, ayokong pansinin kasi alitan nilang magpapamilya yun at anak lang ako. Kaso kung mayroon man silang problema bakit kailangan madamay ang lola ko. Nacontact ko na ang mga pinsan ko, yung iba busy, yung iba may sakit, may bisita at kung ano pang dahilan. Bakit parang wala akong marinig o maramdaman na may willing mag-alaga sa kanya. Nasasaktan ako sa mga nangyayari. Yung isa pang kapatid ng nanay ko dinedeny pa na nanay nya si Ina. =((

Ang hirap. Bakit ganun? Paki-explain naman sakin para maintindihan ko. Hindi ko talaga alam kung ano ang dapat kong gawin.

There is a certain virus that prevents XP users from viewing the hidden files.

The virus meddles with the ’Show hidden files and folders’ option in the Folder Options and the option keeps bouncing back to ‘Do not show hidden files and folders’, despite repeated trials.

Here is how you can set this problem right:

Navigate to the windows registry:
Go to Start menu
Click Run
Type regedit in the text box and then click Enter.

When the Registry Editor opens, perform the following steps:

Go to the following registry key:

Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and then open Software.Under this navigate to: Microsoft -> Windows -> Current Version -> Explorer Then go to Advanced -> Folder -> Hidden -> SHOWALL
Delete the value CheckedValue.
(Its type should be REG_SZ and data should be 2 or 0.)

Create a new DWORD value called CheckedValue (same as above, except that the type is REG_DWORD).

Modify the value data to 1 (0×00000001).This should enable you to select the ‘Show hidden files and folders’ option without much problem.Do drop in comments if there are further queries and we shall try to find answers.

UPDATE:
In the right pane the CheckedValue should be 0×00000001(1) and
DefaultValue should be 0×00000002(2).

Last year, mag-isa akong nagtayo ng christmas tree. Ang parents ko hindi naman talaga tumutulong kahit dati pa. Nagtatampo pa nga e. Buti pa nga daw ang christmas tree nabibigyan namin ng burloloy. Hala! Pagselosan daw ba ang christmas tree. Kamusta naman yun?

Anyway, ang ate ko busy sa pag-aasikaso ng kasal nya. Weekend madalas wala sya sa bahay. Si Kuya hindi ko matandaan kung nasan sya. Andun din yata, tumulong din pero saglit lang. Inilabas nya lang yung christmas tree namin. Nakakalungkot kaya yun! Isipin mo isa ka lang nagtatayo at nagdedesign na usually naman tatlo kayo...

Aww.. Emo.. Kaya nung kasal ni ate (almost 2 months after magtayo ng christmas tree) eto yung naging itsura ko sa kasal ni ate:

Five or six years ago, si kuya kaka-graduate lang ng college at nakahanap na rin kagad ng work. Si ate, nasa college pa sa UP at working student sa Shakey's Katipunan. Ako, second year sa same school at nagpa part-time sa isang maliit na job company as telemarketer.

That time, maliit lang christmas tree namin, two feet lang or wala pa yata sa two. Nagplano si kuya na bumili christmas tree since mga baby pa kami yung gamit naming yun. Ambag ambag daw. Payag naman kami. Hindi ko na matandaan magkano shinare ko.

Syempre pagkauwi sa bahay, excited kami sa pagtatayo. Bago e! Tsaka syempre malaki yung christmas tree. Nabuhayan ang buong bahay.

Ang nakakatuwa lang, bumibili kami ng gifts para sa mga members ng family na hindi naman namin usually ginagawa dati. Well, siguro it's the feeling na parang ang panget ng christmas tree ng walang gifts sa ilalim. Kaya yun, simula nun, may exchange gifts na kami every christmas.

Dati parang naiisip ko mas OK siguro na bumukod para walang nangingialam sayo. Walang nagagalit. Kahit ano pwedeng gawin. Mag-isa ka lang.

Ngayon hindi ko man gustong bumukod pero parang ganun na ang nangyayari at hindi ako masaya.

Halos apat na taon na noong nag-asawa si kuya. Bago pa man nangyari yun, nalulungkot na ko kasi syempre alam mo yung pakiramdam na may aalis sa bahay nyo. Actually umiyak nga yata ako nung time na yun. Bumukod sila pero bumalik din naman.

After 2 years, kinasal ang ate ko. Last year yun. Nung wedding, siyempre kapatid, gumawa ako ng eksena sa reception nya. Hindi ko inaasahan na mangyayari yun. Ni hindi ko pinaghandaan. Wala akong script. Nangyari na lang. Of course, malulungkot ako. Kahit pa sabihin nila na "hindi ako nawalan ng kapatid pero I gained a brother", pero kung malayo naman sya para sakin parang ganun lang din yun. At ganun na nga ang nangyari, sa Makati na sya umuuwi at paminsan-minsan dumadalaw sila.

Ngayon, aalis na naman si Kuya. Nakakuha na sya ng bahay at syempre aanhin nya naman yun kung hindi nya titirahan.

Nakakalungkot kasi pag tuluyan nang umalis sila Kuya kami kami na lang nila Mama ang nasa bahay. Pag umaalis pa sila wala akong dinadatnan. Mas nakakalungkot tuloy.

Goodluck sa'kin. Iniwan na ko ng mga kapatid ko. Iniwan na rin ako ng pamangkin ko. Madalang ko nang maririnig yung tawag nya saking "Tita Joy", madalang ko nang mararamdaman yung nangungulit sakin at nanggigising sakin sa umaga. :(

Mas masarap sigurong pumasok kung may iba't ibang faces na nakikita, may makakausap na iba (not just "us") and iba't ibang ideas na pumapasok.

We've been working in close and quiet place. Naisip ko na parang mas gusto kong magwork sa isang busy place para maiba naman and not just in "our" place.

Just sent that to the team. I don't know kung mag-aagree sila sa sinabi ko but I think for those people who've been working in a quiet company for 2-3 years with just around 10 people could relate to that. Sabagay iba-iba nga naman ang mga tao.

Sa ngayon parang gusto ko lang talaga maiba. I think mas magiging productive ako and enthusiastic sa ganitong set-up.

Easy steps to a Pag-Ibig housing loan

You’ve seen the property that you want to acquire, checked it out repeatedly, in fact, and you’re convinced that it’s the right one for you.

You’re a Pag-Ibig fund member and want to acquire the house and lot or the lot where you want to build your home through a Pag-Ibig housing loan but don’t know how to go about it.

Let these easy steps published in the Pag-Ibig publication “Pabahay ni GMA” and posted in the agency’s website guide you.

1. Attend a housing loan counseling session at the Pag-Ibig Fund office nearest you.

Applicants are asked to accomplish a preliminary loan counseling questionnaire, housing loan application form, and membership status verification slip (MSVS).
Based on these documents, Pag-Ibig officers will determine if the applicant is eligible for a housing loan. Eligible applicants are then given a checklist of requirements that they must comply with before they move on to step 2 in the list.

The requirements include: certificate of employment with salary breakdown (notarized), latest 1 month payslip, Income Tax Returns (ITRs) and W2 for the last two years, photocopy of a company ID or any valid ID with signature, proof of billing, birth certificate, marriage certificate, community tax certificate, and 1×1 picture (4 pieces).

For overseas workers, the requirements are: a special power of attorney (SPA), ID with signature of person designated in the SPA, photocopy of passport (pages 1 and 2), latest job contract, and POP contribution with record book.

2. Submit to Pag-Ibig your loan application form together with all the requirements in the checklist and pay the processing fee of 1,000 pesos. The amount is non-refundable, even in the case that your loan gets disapproved.

3. Wait for notice of approval or letter of guaranty from Pag-Ibig on your housing loan. After your loan is approved, you will need to sign loan documents at the Pag-Ibig office.

4. Proceed to the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) and present the deed of absolute sale between you and the owner of the property. You will also need to submit other necessary documents like tax declaration and tax receipt or clearance for the payment of capital gains tax and documentary stamps tax and secure Certificate Authorizing Registration (CAR).

5. After getting CAR from BIR, proceed to the notary public and have your Loan Mortgage Agreement (LMA) notarized.

6. The next agency to visit is the Registry of Deeds where applicants will need to pay transfer tax and registration fees for the transfer of title and annotation of mortgage.

7. If you’ve taken out a loan to purchase a new residential unit or a lot where you’ve had a house constructed, you need to secure an occupancy permit from the engineering office in the city or town where the property is situated.

8. Next stop is the Assessors Office where you will need to secure a tax declaration for your property, which may be a house and lot or lot only. This is to be used as basis for your real property taxes.

9. After visiting other government agencies, you need to go back to the Pag-ibig Fund Office, armed this time with the following documents:

* Original Transfer Certificate of Title in your name which has the mortgage annotated on it
* DOAS with original RD stamp
* New tax declaration
* Updated real estate tax receipt
* Occupancy permit
* Assignment of loan proceeds

10. The second to the last step is to receive the loan proceeds that you will use to pay the seller of the property.

11. The last step is to start paying the monthly amortization base on the scheduled date.

Interest rates are at six percent for loans up to 300,000 pesos, 7 percent for loans above 300,000 to 750,000 pesos, and 10.5 percent above 750,000 and up to 2 million pesos.

Marami akong bagay na di maintindihan. Nasa akin ba talaga ang problema? Let's just analyze the whole mess.

Kung mainit ang ulo mo bakit kailangan madamay lahat? Maliit na bagay tuloy lumalaki. Ay! actually, wala naman pala talagang problema nagkakaroon dahil sa mainit ang ulo mo...

Mahirap bang magpaalam lang kung may gagalawin? Hindi lang naman kasi iisa ang gumagamit. Siguro naman kahit sa trabaho bago ka gumalaw ng isang bagay na ginagamit din ng iba, nagpapaalam ka di ba? Konting respeto lang naman.

I said, bili tayo ng "pagkain". Magkano ang "pagkain"? Pwede naman tayong bumili ng "pagkain" nang simple lang naman di ba? You didn't ask what we want. You didn't even ask kung magkano ang budget nga ko. Ngayon magagalit ka hirap akong maglabas ng pera? Mali rin siguro ako na pinabayaan kita. Pero sana maintindihan mo na importante sakin magtipid. Bawat singko may pinaglalaanan. Alam mo naman siguro na may pinaghahandaan akong "project" kaya ayokong magtapon ng pera. Konektado ba yun sa wala akong pakialam sa iba? Meeting New Friends

It was really nice meeting new friends.

Two months ago, I joined the online community, Digital Photographer Philippines. It's a nice site para sa mga digital photographers, as the name indicates. The site is informative. Active members are nice.

Then almost two months ago I joined a group exclusive for girls. Ang dami kong nameet na iba-ibang klaseng tao. May mababait, may simple, may medyo mayabang, may ibang tao akala ko sa movie lang napapanood. Nakaka-shock pero nag-eexist sila. Of course, may mga pretty and nice girls din naman.

And two days ago, I joined an EB of photographers and models where I both belong. Siyempre marami na naman akong nakilala. The EB last Saturday was fun. All the photographers are super cool talaga and nice. Ang mga models, sige lang, GO lagi sa mga pinagagawa ng photographer. Although, may mga hindi magandang bagay na nangyari, sana nag-enjoy pa rin ang lahat.

Masyado yata akong nagiging active in meeting new friends. Hehehe.. Pero masaya. Masaya yung feeling na nakaka-meet ng mga bagong mga kaibigan, bagong makakakwentuhan at bagong kakulitan.

Grand Fashion Show

Kamusta naman yan.. Di ko alam kung bakit di bagay sakin ang may make-up.. nagmumukha akong bakla.. :-<

Anyway, nakakapagod magshow. Ganito ba talaga lahat? Mula Friday ng 9pm nasa venue na kami para sa rehearsal. Take note na ang show ay 6pm pa ng Saturday. Bawal umuwi after ng rehearsal. Natapos kami ng 9:30am siguro. Pero di pa ko pwedeng umalis dahil may binigay pa sya na additional sequence sa amin. 11 AM na ko nakakain ng breakfast. After that, tambay, antay.. Hindi rin ako makatulog dahil walang tutulugan. Dumating na yung mga make-up artist. Nagsisimula na silang magmake-up ng ibang models. Gusto kong matulog bago ako lagyan ng make-up. Dumating na si Aldous. Nag-ayos na ko bago matulog para pagkagising make-up na kagad. Kaso 30 mins lang yata ako nakatulog sa sasakyan ni Dous. Mahaba na ang pila sa mga make-up artist. 4pm... 5pm.. 6pm.. Di pa rin wala pa rin akong make-up and hair-do. Pagod na ko. Walang kain.. Bawal nang lumabas.

At last, time ko na para sa make-up. Mali ko din na sa knya pa ko nagpamake-up na alam kong pagod na sya. Sana yata sa iba na lang. Kaya ayun, nagmukha akong bakla. Kamusta naman. And after pa ng show ako nakakain ng lunch and dinner, that was 2 AM yata. Tama ba? Nagdecide na rin kami na sa office na lang matulog dahil bangenge na talaga ako. Haay.. grabeh..

Lessons learned:

Sa field na ganito, dapat marunong kang magmake-up sa sarili mo. Dapat alam mo kung ano ang dapat at hindi dapat ilagay sayo.
Piliting matulog para hindi mukhang haggard sa photos.
Kumain bago magbihis.
Magbaon ng pagkain at tubig.
Pilitin ang director nyo na maglagay ng portalet sa backstage.. Kung hindi mamamatay kayo!

Movie Review: Cloverfield

Naalala ko yung lumindol recently lang (around 10 or 11am yata yun). Natutulog pa kaming lahat sa office. Akala ko nananaginip lang ako. Sumigaw na lang yung isang officemate namin na kailangan naming bumaba. Bumangon na kami kagad. Hindi pa rin tumitigil ang lindol. Binuhat ko na lang basta yung bag ko kahit na di ko sigurado kung nandun yung mga importanteng gamit ko. In fairness, nailock pa yung unit namin. Hahaha! Nakakatawa di ba? Iniisip pa naming mananakawan kami. Anyway, marami na ring lumalabas galing sa ibang units. Tumigil na ang lindol. Marami na ring nasa ground floor. Nakakapagtaka lang na walang tao sa labas ng ibang building. Oh anyway....

Why am I writing about this now?

Ang galing kasi ng movie. Parang nakarelate ako. Although wala sa kalingkingan ang nangyari samin sa movie na 'to (kung totoo man yung movie na to) naramdaman ko yung eksena dahil "parang" nangyari na sakin to -- yung pagmamadali, yung feeling, yung mga sinasabi ng mga tao sa paligid, yung pag-aalala, yung takot, yung iba pang emotions, yung pagkaparanoid, etc.

Marami nang eksenang ganito sa ibang movies -- may sasabog, mapuputulan ng ulo c liberty, may masasaktan, may tatakbo, may sasabog, ganito, ganyan, yadah, yadah. Common na yun sa movie na may monster di ba? I think naiba lang ang Cloverfield sa kung pano nila naideliver yung every scene sa audience. Ang galing ng concept. The idea of using a hand held camera makes is really move effectve.

(I wonder lang kung anong video camera ang gamit nila. Ang lakas sa battery eh. Waterproof and Shockproof pa. Hehehe!)

I know there's something special about the movie. Kasi may after shock e. Meaning, after ng movie pag-uusapan nyo pa ng ilang minuto, or iba-blog mo, or even magrereasearch pa about it like kung bakit Cloverfield ang title. Ilang oras pa ang dadaan bago makalimutan yung bawat scenes. Hindi tulad ng ibang palabas na parang wala lang.

Ang ayoko lang sa movie parang walang ending. Parang bitin. Sabi nga ng nasa likod namin, "Nahilo lang ako". Parang walang bida. Walang super hero. Parang wala lang. Sabagay siguro isa na rin yun sa pinagkaiba nya sa ibang movies -- makatotohanan (except for the monster thing).

If I had my own dSLR, I’d probably shoot/save photos in RAW.

Yun yung sina-suggest sa mga books and ng mga photographers. Yun nga lang magastos sa space.. Kung malaki yung capacity ng memory card mo, why not di ba? :)

I thought things are falling into place. It hurts, and I feel jealous.. very jealous.

Well, if that's what he wants then go! Magsama sila! I don't care... I deserve someone better anyway.

It was Monday and Wednesday

My week started with a game -- bowling at MOA. Ay, hindi pala. Selling two "Fashionista @ Bluewave" tickets to Jessie pala -- my first ever ticket sold. Bili na rin kayo, sige na.. :D

Ininvite namin si Rjay. Wala naman daw siyang pasok the whole week. Buti, kahit biglaan, nakasingit kami sa schedule nya. May plano pa lang mag-out-of-town ang lolo mo. Nasan ang sampaloc ko Jay!:D Anyway, we had 3 sets of games. After the game since medyo maaga pa, nagcoffee na muna kami para mas makapagkwentuhan.

Well, kamusta naman si Rjay ngayon? Hm.. hindi ko alam. Tanungin nyo sya. Hahaha. Well, just look at his photos. Watchatink?

Wednesday night naman, we decided to watch last full show of National Treasure at GB3. 1AM na nang makabalik kami sa office. Few minutes after checking my email, may nagdoor-bell. Siyempre kaming lahat nagtaka, kasi madaling araw na may kumakatok pa rin. Pag bukas ng pinto guard ang una kong nakita then a guy, parang chinese guy, named Vincent. Yung Vincent tumingin sa lahat ng tao sa office, then sabi niya "You take care. You guys take care.". Weird. Pero inassume ko na lang na nag-iikot lang yung guard kung OK yung mga tao sa bawat units. 30 seconds after sinarado yung pinto, biglang may malakas na kumalabog sa pinto namin. Parang binaril pero walang bala. Parang sinuntok, sinipa. Hindi namin alam. Binuksan namin yung pinto, andun pa rin yung guard at yung Vincent. Galit yung Vincent. Someone's snooping daw in his balcony galing sa taas. Ang unit nya sa baba ng unit ng unit namin. Meaning, ang gusto nya sabihin, isa sa amin galing office may nag-ala Lastikman papunta sa unit nya. OK lang sya?! Nakadrugs ba sya? Well, siguro nga. Dahil masyado syang praning.

After ng kalabog sa pinto, natrauma kaming lahat na nasa office. Natatakot kami na baka kung anong mangyari samin sa labas. Kamusta naman kasi ang ginawa ng Vincent na 'yan. Wala syang proof. Bakit niya inassume na galing samin kagad. In the first place, impossible na makadaan kami sa galing balcony namin papunta sa balcony nya. Sabi ng guard bukas na lang daw pag-usapan. Tumawag kami sa 117 para mapa-blotter yung nanggugulo. Kaso sabi sa 117 hindi daw ganun ka-urgent yung nangyari kaya parang bale-wala lang yung report namin. So nagdecide na lang kami na early in the morning na lang magreport sa police.

Ready na ko matulog, hindi na kasi ako makapagtrabaho dahil sa nangyari. Ilang minuto lang ang nakalipas, may nagdoor-bell ulit. Sa takot, bumangon ako bigla tapos umupo ako sa corner ng office. :( Pagbukas ng pinto, isang guard ulit at yung Vincent kasama yung friend nya na si Jeremy. Iniinvite daw kami sa baba, dahil may pulis na daw. So.. pinangatawanan nya na galing nga talaga samin yung bumababa sa balcony nya. Kamusta naman siya?

Buti na lang hindi pa umaalis si Terence ng office. In behalf of the team, siya yung kumakausap sa police, sa Jeremy at dun sa Vincent. Ang gusto lang naman ni Terence, magsorry yung Vincent sa ginawa nya kasi mali naman talaga na inassume niya na samin nanggaling yung taong bumababa sa balcony nya kung meron man. Nasasayang pa yung oras namin dahil sa nangyayari sa halip na nagttrabaho kami. Kaso instead na magsorry, tine-threaten nya pa kami. Addict nga yata yun. Ang dami dami pang nangyari, nagkamurahan, nagpunta pa kami sa pinkamalapit na police station, etc etc.

Kahit ano pang mangyari sa kasong to, hindi na mawawala ang trauma namin sa nangyari. Makarma sana sya.

Never Ending Issue

Hindi pa rin tapos ang issue.. And of course, I'm not happy with it.

Nakakalungkot.. Nakakainis..

Nalulungkot ako kasi kontra sila sa gusto ko. Nakakainis kasi ayaw nilang intindihin. Wala naman silang makitang mali pero kontra sila. Lahat puro haka-haka, na baka ganito, ganyan.. blah blah blah.. Ano yun? Unfair yun di ba? Hindi man lang nila naisip yung positive side. :( As if they don't know me.. *sigh*

Naiinis ako na hindi ko magawang i-please sila at magawa ko ang gusto ko at the same time. Pero since wala naman akong makitang mali sa gusto ko, itutuloy ko na lang. Wala naman sigurong masama di ba?

Malungkot ang bagong taon ngayon. Hindi kasi dito sa bahay mag-New Year ang sister ko.Nakasanayan ko lang na magkakasama kami sa mga ganitong events. Kahit pa sa mga panahon na rin na 'to hindi kayo nagkakasundo.

Pero tulad ng sabi ni Papa, kailangang mag-adjust ng mga magulang kapag nag-asawa ng anak nila.

At tulad ng sabi ng kaibigan ko, "That's life. At least you know they're just there".

Kailangan ko na rin talagang tanggapin na nag-asawa na si ate, at hindi sa lahat ng pagkakataon andito sya at hindi habang-buhay kumpleto kami.

Makakasanayan ko din to.

Very very busy..

Haayy.. sobrang busy.. ang dami kong kailangang gawin na di ko nagawa/magawa.

Dumaan ang wedding ng sis ko. Ang hirap palang maging Maid of Honor.. Whew!
Nag-Chistmas pa.

Kaya.....

One week na kong walang workout (laki na tiyan.. :c).
Na-rush yung pagbili ko ng regalo.
Kulang-kulang pa yung gifts ko.
Kulang din sa tulog at pahinga.
Walang update sa blog ko.
Di pa ko nakakapag-upload ng pics.
Di pa rin ako nakakapaglaba.
At marami pang iba...
(Wala pa yung mga kailangang gawin sa trabaho...)

Nagkasakit pa ko (mild lang naman) sa sobrang daming gawa... Pero kaya pa naman. :)

This Year's Plans, Next Year's Predictions

This year:

My sister's going to get married this December and she'll move out of the house.
My father's retiring from his job by the end of the month.
My brother and his family will be moving out too as soon as he gets his own house.

Next year:

No more crying baby and makulit at home.
Tahimik na lalo ang bahay.
Tatay ko mas lalong mabo-bore.
No more electricity and water bills payers.
More responsibilities will be assigned to me.

But the problems is:

I still haven't got a good business or,
I haven't thought of any good way to earn additional income!

And so:

I have to do a weekend job or,
I have to work double-time.
No more trips.
No more luxuries.
No more DSL and telephone line (para bawas gastos).
I need to transfer my FF's membership to others.
I need to be much more kuripot.

Unless:

My sister gets her first baby soon, surely she'll go back to our house.
My sister gets pregnant this January, so by September a new baby invades our house. yay!
My brother gets his house and decides to put it out for lease.
My brother unluckily doesn't find a good house.
I get a bigger house for the whole family.

Reading files in your iPhone

What's nice about the iPhone, it supports files like word doc, pdf, text, excel and html. But unlike the other phones, iPhone doesn't have a file manager.

I had to install Apache, scp to iPhone with u:root and p:dottie credentials and move the stuff to /Library/WebServer/Documents/ to access the files. Then, access http://127.0.0.1 /<filename.ext>. Note that your iPhone has to be unlocked before doing so.

It works fine but I think a file manager would still be better.

Update (12/11/07 11:31): This also applies to iPod. See howtos in the internet on how to unlock it.

Update (12/06/08 3:06): You can try "alpine" as your password if dottie is not working.
